Avoiding the constraints of a standard programme of academic communications, our inaugural workshop will allow network members and selected postgraduates to converge on some key themes and tasks within the history of identification within an exploratory atmosphere of debate and discussion. The event will be structured by four panels, each corresponding to one of our four main themes, to which members will be allocated depending on brief, informal ‘position papers’ pre-circulated via this page. The event will conclude with a long plenary discussion during which conceptual outcomes will be assessed and arrangements for the remainder of the collaboration finalised. Coffee breaks, lunches, drinks receptions, conference dinners and free time will also allow scope for informal exchanges.
